From raw materials
to finished goods.
Track every raw material, packaging component, inbound freight, outbound freight, and production cost — then roll it all into each finished good to calculate your true landed cost. KovaBatch automates copacker production runs by consuming the bill of materials when the final production bill is received, giving you an accurate landed cost down to the individual unit.
Connect
KovaBatch plugs into KovaBooks — already synced with your Shopify store — so inventory and costs land straight in your books.
Reserve
Stock starts with purchase orders. Write POs for raw goods and packaging, and receiving them builds your inventory.
Make
Light batch production, not heavyweight manufacturing. Runs consume packaging into finished goods — then send stock to the 3PL of your choice.
Cost
A true landed cost per unit — inbound and outbound freight included. Use it with consumption, or entirely on its own.
● 01 — CONNECTED
Built on your books, not beside them..
KovaBatch plugs into KovaBooks, which is already synced with your Shopify store — so there's no second system to reconcile. Raw goods and packaging live in KovaBatch warehouses your storefront never has to know about, while finished goods tie back to your real Shopify catalog. Receipts, batch runs, and costs land in your books automatically, and finished stock can be sent on to the 3PL of your choice.
- ✓ Plugs into KovaBooks — one login, one source of truth for costs
- ✓ Shopify stays the catalog for sellable SKUs; raw goods and packaging stay in Batch
- ✓ Purchase orders, receipts, and production costs flow straight into your books
- ✓ Send finished goods to the 3PL of your choice
● 01 — COPACKER PRODUCTION
Production runs that move real stock..
Production runs that move real stock. This is where most tools stop and KovaBatch keeps going. A copacker is just a vendor with a manufacturing warehouse — write them a production PO, and when you reconcile it, the bill of materials backflushes automatically: raw materials consumed at the copacker, finished goods received at your destination — your warehouse or your 3PL — in one atomic step. The making of your product lives in the system, not a spreadsheet.
- ✓ Copackers modeled as vendors with a manufacturing warehouse and their own stock
- ✓ Reconcile a production PO and the BOM backflushes — qty per unit × actual produced
- ✓ Raw materials out, finished goods in — one transaction, with issue and receipt records for a full audit trail
- ✓ Deliberately light: recipes and consumption, not work orders, routings, or shop-floor scheduling
What it does, and what it doesn't
Cost snapshots
Today, finished-good cost is live: it rolls up from your most recent PO prices, so a raw-cost change updates the rollup everywhere — including historical views. A frozen snapshot at production time, so old margins stay put forever, is being built now.
Lot & expiry
No lot numbers, batch codes, or expiration (FEFO) tracking today. If you need batch-level traceability for dated or perishable goods, KovaBatch isn't there yet — that's the honest answer, and it's on the roadmap.
Work orders & shop floor
By design, not omission. No work orders, routings, WIP states, capacity scheduling, or cycle counts. A production run is a PO you write and reconcile — if you need a shop-floor system, you need different software, and we'll say so.
Forecasting & scanners
No demand forecasting, supplier scorecards, or barcode/scanner integration. Reorder points alert you — they don't auto-order. Forecasting is the most-requested next step, so it's planned, not promised.
Inventory that knows you make things.
Purchase orders for raw goods, production runs at your copacker, and a true landed cost per unit — wired into the same system that runs your store, your channels, and your books.
